About

Meath man Noel Flynn grew up loving country music. The Athboy native, who lived in Nottingham for a number of years before returning to Meath, spent four years as a DJ prior to recording his debut album.

Noel started singing professionally about three years ago. His first album, Turn Back the Years, was released in December 2009. A nice blend of Irish and American country, it features songs as diverse as the Johnny McEvoy classic, Long Before Your Time, to Colin Raye’s Love Me and from the traditional folk song Hard Times to the Ernest Tubb number, Thanks A Lot.

The album attracted a lot of attention in the Leinster region and provided Noel with a strong platform to launch his singing career. However, it was the release of his follow-up single Talking to Your Picture that secured a lot of airplay on radio stations across Ireland, thus giving him his first major break on the circuit.

“I was honoured to receive the Best Male Newcomer award at the West Limerick 102 Country Music awards in 2010,” says Noel. “My second album, The Heart That Beats in Ireland was released in 2011. It includes Talking to Your Picture which was sent to me by Richard Harte, Wrong Oh So Wrong written by Vic Holroyd, and These Lips Don’t Know How To Say Goodbye. and taking all the memories which was co written by vic holroyd and j d cole This album is also a mixture of Irish and American country.

“In January I decided to get a band together on the road that features Declan Reilly on bass and vocals, Padraig Harris on keyboard, accordion and vocal, Brian Walsh on drums and John Gleeson on lead guitar, dobro and vocals., a cover of the Don Williams song, Lay Down Beside Me, is getting some great reviews and plenty of plays at home and overseas.”

Also my further two singles the way you love me written by mark Everett and let me be your one and only written by glen Flynn are both doing well on the airwaves. In 2013 saw Noel release a dvd called the cowboy rides again and a new cd called my guiding light. Now it´s time for “My Time With You” (2016).

Noel and his band look forward to performing at shows around Ireland and the UK in the times ahead.
